SOME IMPORTANT ASPECTS
1. THIS IS NOT A STARVATION DIET.
We will have an abundance of fresh, plant-based recipes for you to choose from while following a schedule that allows the body to fully utilize the fuel its given.
2. CLEANSES ARE NOT SCARY, THEY ARE A GIFT.
This is a healing opportunity for your body and mind. It's a time when you'll allow your body to function at a higher level, leaving you with more energy, better digestion, a clear mind, diminished cravings, a greater peace of mind, and you may even notice diminished bloat or weight loss.
3. SUPPORT SYSTEMS ARE AWESOME.
You're encouraged to participate daily in the ongoing Enlightened Nutrition Community Support Group on Facebook (link is in your Enlightened Nutrition ebook). This helps tremendously for accountability, opens the door to connect with others who are (or have) gone through the program, a chance to ask questions, share successes, etc. You may even want to consider inviting a friend to join you - because doing things with friends is always a good idea!

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE PURCHASE?
Upon purchase of Enlightened Nutrition, you'll receive a digital copy of the program in your email (an ebook, aka PDF file). Within this ebook you'll find everything you need to succeed, including a link to our private 'Enlightened Nutrition Community' on Facebook. Here you'll find recipes, support, and a platform to share successes, ask questions, connect with others, and so on. You'll also have life-time access to this program and to the group so that you can go through it as many times and as often as you'd like.
DO YOU PROVIDE A MEAL PLAN?
No. Here's why. Every body is unique and different and therefor functions best off of different foods! I.e. a green smoothie may hold me over best in the morning and give me great energy, where as you may feel better with something more solid such as oats or chia pudding.
Another reason we don't provide a meal plan: I want you to succeed. If I layout the whole menu, what will you do when our time together 'ends'? I won't be there to make a life-long meal plan for you, but through this program you'll instead develop the skills necessary to create your very own meal plan which will in-turn set you up for the best long-term success!
HOW MANY CALORIES PER DAY DO WE CONSUME?
This will be different for everybody and you'll realize once the program begins - this is a calorie-counting-free zone. I stress the importance of food quality (nutrients in clean, whole food) over calories. It's about quality, not quantity.
IS THE EXERCISE PART OF THE PROGRAM REALLY STRENUOUS?
Because we are all so unique, individualized, and coming into this from all walks of life, the 'movement' part of this program is just that - individualized. A simple requirement of 30 minutes each day in a way that challenges your unique body is what is asked of you. There are sample, written workouts posted in the photo album of the community group on Facebook that can be used if participants so choose!
HOW MUCH WILL I HAVE TO SPEND ON FOOD?
This is individualized also because it depends which recipes you choose! You can make this week of Enlightened Nutrition as simple or complex as you wish; the more simple, the less cost... the more complex, the higher the cost. I like to shop for 3 or 4 days worth of food at a time and apply the concept of 'cook once and eat many times', meaning I'll have the same breakfast for a few days vs. making something completely different each day. This will save on cost (and time). I'll also make extras at dinner so that I have leftovers for lunch the next day. Again, saving on both cost and time.
ARE THERE SUPPLEMENTS INVOLVED?
There are no required supplements for Enlightened Nutrition. There are some suggested supplements for amplified detox IF you want to use them and if not, you can 100% go through this program without any added supplements. I am a proponent of whole-food nutrition so that is what the majority of the focus is on.
WHAT SHOULD I DO FOR EXERCISE?
Walk, run, bike, swim, skip, hop, lift weights, do yoga, dance... Whatever you want as long as it's challenging your own unique self!
WILL I GET HUNGRY?
Chances are, no. Are you surprised?! This is not a starvation diet. Sure, there may be some 'newness' in your routine that your body will work to adjust to, but overall you should not have to put worry into entering this with a fear of immense hunger.
WILL I BE SPENDING A LOT OF TIME IN THE, AHEM... BATHROOM?
Chances are, no... But everyone is different and will show signs of detox in different ways and in different levels of severity. The body tends to have a few days of 'feeling worse' before feeling better and that is simply because the toxins need to leave the system. Detox symptoms can show up in a variety of ways but as I said, chances of you having to spend a ton of time in the bathroom is low.
CAN I DO THIS PROGRAM WHILE ON THE ROAD?
Yes, please do! The reason I encourage the 'do this any time and anywhere' approach is because that is LIFE! We are always on the go, aren't we?! Allow yourself the glory of applying this to the imperfect time. If you can do that, you can assure success with this ANY time.
IS THIS SAFE TO DO WHILE I'M PREGNANT OR BREAST FEEDING?
Because there are no supplements and no starvations, I dub this Enlightened Nutrition program as safe. It is simply a clean-eating, whole-food, and ridding-toxic-chemicals-from-the-body-and-mind approach to health. It's about creating an internal GLOW for optimal physical functioning. I would, however, encourage you to check with your doctor ahead of time anyways and explain the approach with them. I HAVE A LOT OF FOOD ALLERGIES. WILL THAT BE A PROBLEM?
This isn't a problem at all. As long as you know what you can and cannot have you can adapt the program to fit your needs.
WHAT WILL MY FAMILY EAT IF I'M THE ONE WHO COOKS AND AM DOING THIS PROGRAM?
Um... the same thing! Have them eat what you eat. You'll be doing their health a lot of good then, too!
I'M A PICKY EATER. CAN I DO THIS?
Yes. You can do anything. If you're truly ready to feel better, then YES you can do this. Mindset, friends. Mindset.
Also, be open to try new foods, explore new tastes and textures, and do it more than once. Sometimes it takes the body and tastebuds some time to acquire a liking for new things. You may just surprise yourself!
WILL I LOSE WEIGHT?
Every person who has followed this program has lost weight. Whether it be 1 pound or 10 pounds in the 1 week time period, everyone is shedding water weight, waste weight, body fat... it's different for everyone simply because we are all so unique / different / individualized. We all withhold different amounts of toxins and because of that, some will shed the toxicity and inflammation faster and some will do so slower. Honor your pace and celebrate the fact that your body will respond just as it should as you follow the program guidelines.
CAN I EAT OUT?
Sure you can. This is real life! The challenge comes in that you need to make the smart choices, ask questions, request menu-item modifications, and own your role of continuing with your detox plan.
Tip 1: Before you head out, review the menu online if possible and see what your choices are.
Tip 2: Choose the menu item with the most vegetables.
Tip 3: Request the use of no butter, confirm that sauces and seasonings are gluten-free and dairy free.
Tip 4: Ask for your water (or soda water with lime, aka my fav) to be served in a fancy glass. This will alleviate the urge to splurge on an alcoholic beverage.
